We bring you the new issue of Consortium Psychiatricum, dedicated to biological psychiatry: https://consortium-psy.com/jour/issue/view/17. It features three original studies, two reviews, and a case report.
The “Research” section presents the results of work conducted by teams of researchers who:
- have identified the somatic conditions and psychiatric disorders genetically associated with anhedonia;
- were the first to adapt the individual disease burden index for patients with remission of bipolar affective disorder; and
- have recorded the brain responses to traumatic stimuli in order to search for potential neurophysiological markers of post-traumatic stress disorder in military personnel
The “Review” section presents the results of two large-scale projects that involved the analysis and systematization of publications on the following topics:
- the use of genome-wide association studies (GWAS) to identify genetic markers of suicidal behavior, and
- the correlation of hematological inflammation indices in adolescents with mental illnesses.
In the “Case report” section, our Indian colleagues focus on the diagnosis of acute delirious mania in four patients.
