A new issue of Consortium Psychiatricum is now available on the website!
This issue features research studies carried out by scientists from Russia, Nigeria, Iraq, Sudan, the UK, Germany, and Uganda.

A team from the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, in collaboration with clinical psychiatrists, have conducted a study to compare the distribution of lipid cells in the brain of schizophrenia patients and healthy volunteers, providing new insights into the brain architecture of patients with schizophrenia.

The issue contains three reviews.

The authors from Moscow, Ufa and Saint Petersburg have presented a comprehensive review of modern methods for diagnosing depressive symptoms in patients with schizophrenia.

The second review summarizes the data on the concept of schizoaffective disorder and discusses the evolution of diagnostic and treatment approaches.

A review by authors from Yekaterinburg and Samara explores the current understanding of the concept of the cognitive reserve in literature, and discusses its potential to prevent Alzheimer's disease.

Researchers from Nigeria have explored the barriers preventing residents experiencing suicidal thoughts from seeking specialized care, and proposed strategies to address this issue.

In the final article of the issue, researchers from Iraq examine the differences between the Maslow’s pyramid and the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support pyramid, which are two basic tools to determine human physiological and psychosocial needs.

To learn how this affects the effectiveness of psychological care in crisis situations, read Consortium Psychiatricum:
